A pastor urges Christian husbands to pray for their wives by laying hands on them and interceding for healing and breakthrough. He argues that responding to hostility with kindness, not retaliation, is what breaks cycles of anger, and that a husband's prayer directly protects his children.

I got a question for you. When was the last time you put your hands on your wife? No, I'm not talking about what you think I'm talking about. When was the last time you put your hands on your wife's shoulders and prayed for her? When was the last time you laid your hands on your wife and prayed for her? Prayed that God would heal her? Prayed that she got a breakthrough? Prayed that she would get the help that ultimately she needs? See, we get stuck in these cycles of animosity, hostility, rage, and it's futile. It takes us nowhere and ultimately takes us away from being the man of God that we know that we are, takes us out of alignment with a higher version of us. It doesn't make us empowered, it makes us a victim. Darkness can't cast out darkness. Only light can do that. Only light can do that. So don't try to defeat evil with evil. Defeat evil with good. And it says in the word, when we do a good thing to somebody that has hostility or resentment towards us, it's like pouring hot coals on their head because it sears their conscience. It's like if you don't get along with somebody at work and then you pop in the office and you're like, hey man, I'm going to grab a sandwich right now, you want me to grab you anything? That person is confused and their conscience is seared by the fact that no matter what happens in your life, you choose to not give away your power to people, places, things, and you ultimately will not allow darkness inside your life to overpower you, to corrupt you, to cause you to be someone that you're not. So I'm going to challenge you right now. I'm challenging all my brothers right now, all of us, including me. Let's pray for our wives, because guess what? Nobody spends more time with your kids than your wife. And if you really care about your children, pray for your wife. Pray for your I challenge all my brothers to lay hands on their wives' shoulders and to come into agreement that we're going to pray for our wives, because ultimately you might be the only one who is.
