Your worth isn't based in the external, so stop seeking external validation. Your worth and value isn't based on, right, your job, your business, isn't based on your external success. It's based in the internal. It's based on your character, your character virtues. It's based in your integrity. Your sense of worth and value should be based on right? Who you stand as, who you are, alignment with your core values. What are the things that you truly value? I value spending time with my wife. I value being a good father. I value, right, being a man of my word. I value owning my part. I value being responsible, being accountable. I value taking action on these areas of my life. I value being healthy. I value being emotionally stable. I value self-control. I value— what do you value in your life? You wonder why you have cognitive dissonance. You wonder why you have a guilty conscience. You wonder why you have self-induced shame and guilt, self-loathing. You wonder why you don't have self-respect, brother. It's because you're not living in alignment with your core values and you seek external validation as an escape. You're addicted to work, the only addiction that you can have where people consider you a success. But if you're successful at work and your kids have to go to therapy, if you're successful at work and your wife is unhappy, then you're not a success. Because success— there needs to be continuity in your life across the board if you're going to be called a success. You overcompensate inside of your business because that's the only vehicle that you have to try and overcompensate and prove that you're enough, prove that you have worth. And so your worth is connected to external variables in your life, keeps you in a state of dependency, fixated and consumed on moving that ball forward. And guess what? People in your life, what kind of message do you send them when you do that? You send them a message of basically they're not enough, they're not important, they're not significant, they're not relevant. And the very thing that you long for is literally right in front of your own face, and you're blind to it. The connection, the The romance, the passion, the intimacy that you long for, brother, is right in front of you, staring back at you with sad eyes. It's staring back at you empty, waiting for you to connect. Wake up. So much opportunity there for you to create legacy with your family. So much opportunity there for you to create impact. And you're sitting in a position addiction where you're literally escaping into the very thing that you were using to create a great life for your family. So now you're using your business maladaptively to try and hide out from the problems inside of your home. Your marriage is like a garden, and if you don't tend to it, if you don't water it, if you don't nourish it, if you don't spend time there tending to your marriage, pouring into it, you're going to get out of it what you put into it. And you wonder why your marriage feels empty and hollow and lifeless.
That's because that's how you show up to it. You show up to your marriage empty, hollow, and lifeless. Robotic. Oh, but you'll get a text about work and you'll jump right up out of your seat, won't you? That your wife and kids, they're probably dying for you to show them that much excitement. You have every opportunity to change this, man. Don't let this be your story, bro. So many guys that I've helped. Don't wait until it's too late.
