Success Won’t Fill the Void

A man who's worked with thousands of clients, from Olympic athletes to lawyers, argues that external success feels empty without inner work. He says you have to examine your childhood, fears, and defense mechanisms. The payoff isn't money. It's peace, freedom, and purpose.

Stop competing with ghosts. See, the irony here is you've already won it all. You've already had it all. You've already achieved it all in your life. And brother, here you are again, still competing with ghosts from the past, ultimately to do what? Overcompensate for your lack of self-worth. Here you are seeking external validations in the external environment through achievements, accolades, success, For what? For what? Because inevitably you could have it all in the world, but if the inside— if the inside is not whole, if your relationship with you is not good, then no matter what you put inside, it's always going to leak out. When we do that, we're like a bucket with holes. We can't be at war with ourselves and expect to be at peace with the world. We have to get right with ourselves first, brother. And see, that's the work that transforms you. That's the work you've been avoiding. That's the place you don't want to look because self-awareness has not ever yielded an ROI that you wanted or desired or even knew about. Why would I look inside myself? Why would I take my life into question? Why would I examine my childhood? Why would I look at my mindset and my thoughts? Why would I look at my core beliefs? Why would I examine my fears? Why would I admit that I'm wrong? Why would I acknowledge my fallibilities? Why would I look at my character defects? Why would I analyze my defense mechanisms? Because those are the areas that completely revolutionize every relationship in your life, including the one you have with yourself. That's the game changer. And you could talk to any man who's got true, true freedom, and he'll tell you the same thing. It's the inner work. That's why inside the Total Breakthrough Academy, the methodology we use is called the Inside Out Method. And I'm telling you, working in the clinical field for over 10 years, over a decade with thousands of clients, the guys that always got the most substantial breakthrough every single time are the guys who are committed to self-development, the guys who are committed to understanding that the work has to take place on the inside before it happens in the outside. I'll tell you, I've worked with Olympic athletes, I've worked with lawyers, doctors, all kinds of professionals, as well as people at the very bottom of the bottom of the bottom. And ultimately, what all these men have learned is that your level of success will never exceed your level of personal development. Your level of success will never exceed your level of personal development. You have to put personal development first. You have to analyze and look at you, examine your life. Just take a pit stop for a couple months and do some work that allows you to get an ROI that you've never had. Not monetary, something that money cannot buy you. Peace, freedom, joy, gratitude, serenity, understanding, awareness, empowerment, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, communication skills. And ultimately a sense of purpose, dignity, and integrity that is restored into your life by the power of God working through you, for you to recognize your true identity outside of the brokenness inside your— the world that you're in right now. That's the power, brother. It's not in what you attain and what you acquire. It's about what's created inside of you when you surrender to the point in your life where you let go of your ego like I got this all figured out. It's crazy when you're the guy that everybody comes to for answers to problems, yet you don't have the answers to the biggest problems in your life. I know what it's like to feel stuck there. It's a lonely place, man. It's lonely, brother. I know. And the heaviest weight that you'll ever, ever, ever have to lift is your right hand when you're struggling. But my hand is out to you. Guess what? All the other brothers that I'm working with our hands are out to you because this isn't a solo mission, brother. This is your time. Stop putting off the real work. Stop hiding behind your wall of success because ultimately, if you have all that and you've attained all that, but the inside is fractured and broken and you're hurting, are you really a success?
