Greatest mentor I ever had was pain. See, a lot of us don't even see pain this way. We don't realize that a lot of our self-destructive behaviors are motivated by pain avoidance. We don't want to feel pain. We want feel pleasure more than we want to feel pain. And see, if you take pleasure beyond a certain point, it becomes painful. And that's why we choose to avoid short-term pleasure for long-term self-respect. So many people don't look at pain as the trial ground.
