A man in a faith program confronts his "father wound" during a late-night call, finally weeping and realizing he'd been trying to be a better father without healing from his own. The breakthrough shifts his marriage, parenting, and sense of self, rewriting what he calls his family's bloodline.
Chapters
We've seen a lot of breakthrough inside this program, but some moments feel like holy ground, and I want to share one with you. A guy came into the program and he was guarded. He was a strong guy, he was disciplined, he was sharp, but he looked emotionally locked up and he didn't trust anybody, didn't need help, wouldn't cry ever.
And he said, "I don't talk about my dad. It is what it is.
I moved on." But the fruit in his life told a different story because he was disconnected from his wife. He He didn't know how to receive the love that his kids wanted to give him. He swung between this control and withdrawal that he had, and the wound wasn't visible, but it was still driving everything in his life. And as we worked through his timeline, his emotional blueprint, and his inner vows, that father wound began to surface. The rejection, the silence, the absence, the sense that no matter how much he achieved in his life, it would never be enough for a man who didn't see his worth. Then it happened one night on a call, something broke. And he started to speak, and the words got caught in his throat. And he leaned in, and he started covering his face, and he started to cry. And not soft tears, I'm talking soul tears, years of pain erupting all at once. And in between sobs, all he could say was, "I thought it was because of me." And we didn't rush this, we didn't try to fix it, but we let the Holy Spirit do what only he can do. And when he looked up, something was different about him. And you could see his face was different. His posture was different. His eyes looked different.
He said, "I've been trying to be a better father without ever healing from being a father to son." And that night, his legacy shifted.
And that's not coaching. That's not therapy. That's God rewriting a bloodline. And we've seen it happen again and again and again. Guys who finally stopped performing long enough to let God the Father speak into their life in a way their real father never did. The wound is real, but so is healing, and it always starts from the same place. You gotta bring that to the light and connect the dots. You gotta let it break and let God rebuild the man you were always meant to be. You don't have to carry these things, but you have to release them. This is what happens when you lay it all down. It's nothing short of a miracle for people in your life, and that's the work. And the moment is ready for you when you're ready to seize the opportunity. Because when we have a father wound, we look at God through the lens of our biological father, and that affects our relationship with God. Here's the most beautiful part about this: God loves you, and God's love for you is never based on what you do. It's based on who He is.
