How many of us let our wives' behaviors get under our skin, right? The truth is that someone's behavior towards us, it says nothing about us, it says everything about them. But why their behavior triggers us says everything about us and nothing about them. The reality is, is we personalize it, we make it about us. That's where we lack the empathy, because people's actions, they're not driven by us, they're driven by their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, things that we have no control over. But when we take that behavior personally, We let their issues define our reactions. So we have to shift our focus away from that. So instead of personalizing everything, we need to ask ourselves, right? Why is this affecting me so much? Why am I giving this so much power? What's this reaction really about inside of me? And when we stop blaming other people and we start looking inward, we find that the real work begins inside ourselves. And that's where true growth happens. Right? Not by changing someone else, but by understanding ourselves and evolving as a person.
