Our apathy is killing us. So thinking back today, actually, on some times in my life where I was apathetic, I realized that any time I was apathetic about life, I lacked 3 things: passion, purpose, and progress. All those times, my attitude of indifference, or not really caring as much about what I was doing as I did before, was a result of one simple thing, one simple thing that I wasn't doing or that I wasn't remembering. Play. Play is crucial to our growth as entrepreneurs, empaths, parents, students, and coaches. See, we're extreme people. We have extreme focus and we need to step back to enjoy ourselves and let off some steam and clear our mind every once in a while. You know, whether that's hiking, packing up the car, going to the beach with the kids for the day, surfing, riding bikes, Harleys, going to the lake, a concert. We need to take a breather. Okay. Most people who don't and wouldn't know the why behind this would say, ah, that's just lazy. Right? But if you're creative and every day you're working on a deep, individual level with clients while managing and overseeing a large-scale business, you need to take the weekend or you need to take time to play, right? This allows your creative process to reignite. Jump in the ocean, come back to what you were doing, right? You'll see how your perspective changes and how you have a more objective lens on things with potentially new ideas that'll spark. So take time to connect with what keeps you healthy, right? And stay connected with why you started in the first place. Mediocrity is the soul killer. And don't let your grind become so mundane that you're not exploring more of what life has to offer, right? Go on that trip with a friend. Go record a few songs at the studio. Get down, down there for a surf. Get a workout in with a friend. Go see that band that's in town, right? Clear your creative mind, reduce stress, and go play.
