Tim Arrigo argues that behavior reveals what you actually believe, not what you say. A lack of follow-through and consistency signals you're not committed, making your partner feel insecure. Words without aligned actions read as manipulation, and trust rebuilds only through genuine change and ownership.

You don't think people pick up on the energy and the fact that you're not all in, you're not fully invested, you're not fully committed? I know that in my life, when I wasn't fully in on a relationship, when I wasn't fully committed or fully invested in bettering myself and actually changing, people knew. Just because you don't vocalize it doesn't mean people don't observe it. That's, that's one of the biggest, like, misconceptions and forms of self-deception that we fall into. The trap, the mind trap, the mental trap of people that, that just because I say something, people automatically believe it. They're not believing your lies. Why? Because they're watching your behavior. Behavior never lies. Your behavior says everything about where you're at and what you're doing. Your lack of results are a result of your lack of follow-through, your lack of commitment, your lack of discipline, your lack of being all in. And people in your life, specifically your wife, they pick up on this. They know this. Your wife, at the end of the day, she feels insecure. She feels insecure because she knows you're not all in. And a lot of her past is being triggered in a lot of her relationships. And so you have an expectation that just because you change, that that same day that you decide to make a change, that your wife should automatically be at your beck and call. And basically things should be better right away. And that's part of the problem too, that instant gratification mindset. Stop. Learn how to say, hey, you know, I recognize that you probably felt this way because of what I did. And I want to take ownership of this conflict because I'm recognizing that that was my behavior and I don't want to behave that way because it's not in alignment with the man that I want to be. I apologize. That's building trust in the relationship. Healthy relationships are built on trust. How you build trust back in a relationship is through communication, is through congruency, is through continuity is through consistency with what you say and what you do, where what you say matches up with your actions. Your wife sees what you do and what you say as a form of gaslighting and mental manipulation. It's like, are you telling her what she wants to hear so you can feel better about what you do, or are you truly telling her like what she needs to hear so that it improves the dynamic. Stop engaging in the manipulation because everybody in your life sees right through it.
