Tim Arrigo describes feeling an inner void after losing relationships, careers, and addictions, then realizing the emptiness wasn't about what he'd lost. He traces it back to a lack of self-love and a weakened connection to God as the real source of the void.
Chapters
There was times in my life, ending of relationships, ending of a certain career or endeavor or business, the ending of addictions that I had, and I always felt this void. And I remember thinking to myself, like, ah, I just don't feel right without this stuff in my life. And then I realized what the void really was. The void that I felt wasn't caused by the thing I lost. The thing I lost only filled the void that I felt. That the void was always there. I just didn't see it. We operate in our life at a certain degree to go, go, go, go. And then when you find that void, you think like, if I could just have this thing back, then I would be okay again. But what if I told you that the void that you feel isn't created by the thing you lost? It's actually created by the absence of the love that you have for yourself and the relationship that you have with God.
