Nehemiah whispered a quick prayer before speaking to the king and God moved on his behalf. You don't need long prayers, just real ones offered in the moment. Pause before you react, argue, or withdraw in your marriage and ask God for the right words.

You don't need a long prayer to move heaven. You just need a real one. See, Nehemiah, he didn't fast for days before speaking to the king. He whispered one quick prayer and God moved. And that's what happens when you stay connected, not just religious. See, most men, they wait until everything's falling apart, the house is on fire, to talk to God. See, but real spiritual leadership, my brothers, is— it's built in the micro moments, right before you react, argue, right before you shut down or withdraw. That's where marriages, good marriages, are either built or broken into pieces. So before you defend yourself next time, before you try to control the situation or to shut her out or get defensive, just pause, breathe, and ask this simple question: Lord, can you please give me the words that I need right now? Because that is how we shift from reaction to revelation, which can only be provided by God. From flesh to faith, right? From what you want to do in your carnal nature to living in the Spirit. Where you shift from conflict into a deeper connection with your wife. Nehemiah 2:4 says, "Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and men," I answered the king. So remember, you don't have to engage in foxhole prayers. You can start praying before you speak. And when you do this, you're gonna see, you're gonna watch how the tone in your marriage changes. In that moment, call on the Lord. Remember, God has abounding resources, abounding weaponry, and that you're never alone.
