You want to know the real reason why you get so reactive and defensive when you get criticized by your spouse? It's because you have a fixed mindset. You don't believe that you can actually change the behaviors that someone's identifying, right? It's a fixed mindset. A growth mindset knows that I can always evolve and change. So your fixed mindset, you just say things like, well, I'm hardwired this way. You just believe that you're stuck. You don't actually believe that you can change, number one. And number two, you have a massive inferiority complex. You're really hiding your insecurities. You're hiding your feelings of inferiority, inadequacy, shame, guilt. You're really burying things that are really operating in your life without your permission, and you don't want to acknowledge that. So having anybody else in a position to give you feedback requires you to humble yourself, and you can't humble yourself without feeling desperately powerless, a loss of control. You don't know how to listen because that takes you back to some former time in your life where somebody needed needed to do that to you. They basically had to put you down, belittle you, degrade you, devalue you, discard you. So it reminds you of those moments when you have to actually trust somebody else and what they're telling you about your life. And your ego's so massive because you created so much success in your life. That power through mentality, that push through mentality, that doesn't work in your business. You can steamroll people in your career, but you can't steamroll your wife and kids. My question is, what are you doing about it? You gonna continue to sit back, have a massive ego, pretend like you got it all figured out even though you don't, pretend like you have all the answers even though you don't, pretend like you have a problem even though you do, and deny the fact that you need to change even though it's the truth? Or you gonna keep making excuses and keep hurting everyone in your life that's closest to you?
