Can AI hold you accountable to your goals, or will it just nag you into ignoring it? The speaker splits people into two groups: the self-disciplined, who'll act to avoid judgment, and the easily defeated, who'll tune it out. The question is whether AI can tell the difference.
But I am curious then, about AI from an accountability perspective, because I don't know how people will respond if AI professionally nags them about why they haven't carried out the task they said they would. And I guess there will be a group of people who will respond to that. Maybe those hyper disciplined, hyper focused people who will go, right, I'm not enjoying the fact that I'm being held to account here, so I'll do something about it. And then there will be a very large group of people, typical of humans in general, who find it really easy to let themselves down, who won't be forced into action by AI giving them that prompt. And so when it comes to accountability, I'm wondering how AI would deal with that and how people will respond to it.
