A short discussion (May 2025) about the impact of AI on creative workflows, particularly within the games industry. Speakers note positive early outcomes from human–AI partnerships, and discuss niche studios (e.g., Peek and Poke) versus larger game companies using AI for map creation, character development, scripting, and art/asset generation.
But at the moment we're seeing amazing positives, and I think we're seeing people able to do far more with their time by working in partnership with this technology. So what impact is it going to have on the game production process within.
Peek and Poke for us? I'm not too sure. I know that in the wider game industry, because we sort of sit sort of on the peripheral of the games industry. We're sort of doing something that's quite niche. We don't make big 3D environments and things. But I know for those larger companies, there's AI tech's being used for all sorts of things, for map creation, character development, scripting, some art production as well. I know there are some art tools that are coming along for helping with our assets. There's definitely a whole raft of mobile app developers who are building games with AI generated art.
