A short monologue reflecting on social acceptance and appetite for AI-powered household robots despite risks and failures. The speaker compares current devices (e.g., Alexa) to future leased robots that could perform wide-ranging domestic tasks, noting people’s willingness to tolerate convenience-related failures and expressing excitement about the technology.
Okay, but would you have a robot that's plugged into AI without limitation and control? You probably would. You've already got Alexa in your home, which is pretty much. Yeah, I do have Alexa. But if you could for say £500amonth. Yeah. Lease a robot that could do all of your washing, cleaning, ironing, gardening, clean your windows, fix your car and even if there's the accidental homicide occasionally you kind of put up. Hopefully not in my home. But well, no, but you say, well this week I'd like that room to be blue. Actually didn't like blue. Yeah. We will put up with lots of failure points. I remember watching Bicentennial man, which is a phenomenal under watched Robin Williams film and the, the, the failure that we're prepared to accept and put up with for convenience is astonishing actually. So actually I, I, yeah, what am I saying? I can't wait.
