Tim Davies explains a commercial workshop service that assesses a company’s AI maturity, uncovers blockers, and produces a practical roadmap toward becoming an AI-first organisation. Workshops run from half a day to five days, begin with research and a basic quiz to gauge technical maturity, focus on identifying high-impact problems, and usually deliver a simple proof-of-concept that can be integrated into daily processes to free up staff time. The offering often leads to longer-term engagements to help deliver the roadmap.

One of the services that we offer our customers is a workshop to evaluate where they are currently in terms of AI adoption, what challenges they may have, and to help them develop a roadmap that will move them from their current position, wherever they are in terms of AI and system adoption, to move towards being an AI first company where they're evaluating artificial intelligence as effectively a differentiator, a competitive advantage, an unfair advantage. I like to think so. In these workshops, they're generally half a day to five days, depending on the size of the organization. We'll start with understanding where they are currently, what their business does, what their processes are. We'll have done some research in advance, but really we're trying to get a feel for their technology, understanding technical maturity. And we'll run through a basic quiz just to get a feel for where they are, what their challenges are. And then we dive deep into what their biggest problems are within their business, how they're currently using AI, what they're exposed to in terms of their systems and processes, and where that might be causing blockers. And our aim is to develop a clear understanding that will help move the company forwards in their AI adoption, but really usually starts with something that's super simple and basic, just to get the entire team bought into what's possible within that business. These are often quite simple proof of concepts. So can we use AI to achieve this thing that is done within the business currently and do it more efficiently? And if we can then tie that into part of their business processes so that it becomes something that happens every day, automatically freeing up people's time, it builds the confidence and understanding within the organization at large and, and opens their minds to what's possible and hopefully helps them to achieve some of that roadmap in the short term, so that they're making steps towards being focused on AI regardless of their starting point. So this works really well in non technical companies. They don't have to have systems and processes beautifully defined. In advanced, it can help with new product development and introduction in terms of working around the concept of what a new product could be and how that could evolve from the company's current offerings. But over the course of that workshop, we get everybody bought in, we get a clear understanding of what that roadmap would be, we define that first proof of concept or quick win within the organization, and we get a thorough understanding so that everybody understands what can happen by using AI within their business. And that's usually the start of a beautiful relationship. We'll often partner with these companies for months and years after this point to help them deliver their roadmap. Or alternatively, they can use internal resources or other external experts to help make it happen. So our workshops help move companies forward in their AI adoption.
