A short presentation (YouTube video) arguing that asking great questions is a salesperson's "superpower." The speaker uses an introductory activity—asking participants what superpower they'd like—to motivate that nearly all sales interactions revolve around questions (building rapport, handling objections, closing).
And I always say, in the very first session with any company I do, I always ask the question, I always say, introduce yourself what you want to get out of today's course, and if you had a superpower, what would it be and why? And people always say things like, I want to be invisible. I want to be able to fly. And that ties into the first activity I do where I always say, asking great questions as salespeople is our superpower. The better the question, the better the answer. You know, that's. That's the key to what we do. Everything we do in sales pretty much ends in a question mark. Whether you're building rapport with somebody and saying, you know, how was your weekend? I wouldn't necessarily do that one, but, you know, it ends in a question mark. Whether you're overcoming objections by asking an open question, whether you're closing by asking a closed question. All of these things end in the question mark. So that's what we've got to get good at.
