TJ Walker guides a seven-minute breathing and visualization practice to manage emotions. You'll practice a 4-in, 7-out breath pattern to calm your nervous system, notice and release physical tension, and repeat affirmations like "My emotions inform me, they do not control me." A final visualization asks you to recall a stressful moment and imagine responding with calm.

Emotional control begins with physical control. Breathe first, reaction second. Stay with the count: 4 in, 6 out. If thoughts appear, let them pass. You're not suppressing emotion, you're slowing response time. Now allow the breathing to lengthen slightly. Inhale for 4, Exhale for 7.

Again, 4 in, 7 out. Longer exhales signal safety to your nervous system. Continue breathing naturally. Notice any tension in your body, jaw, shoulders, hands. Release them gently. Now silently repeat: I pause before I respond. I remain steady under pressure. My emotions inform me. They do not control me. Return to slow breathing. Think of a recent moment that required composure. Do not relive it, just observe it. Now imagine responding to that moment with calm precision. See yourself slower, clearer, deliberate. This is emotional control, not suppression— direction. One final slow inhale.
