TJ Walker explains how AI now writes essays that fool plagiarism detectors and teachers. The tools insert fake typos, simulated deletions, and even type slowly in Google Docs to fake the work. Walker argues schools need to stop relying on lazy assignments and redesign how they actually teach.

A New York Times story today says student teaching is becoming almost impossible to detect in the age of artificial intelligence. Students are being marketed tools that don't just write papers for them, they humanize the writing. They fake typos, they fake deletions, they fake revision history. They slowly type the essay into Google Talks so it looks like real students sat there grinding away. In fact, the student may have been eating a sandwich and watching YouTube. This is a serious problem. But here's the part many teachers don't want to hear: if your entire teaching system collapses because a student can now fake a take-home essay, maybe your teaching system was already too lazy. Technology changed. That doesn't mean teaching is impossible. It means teaching has to change. Ultimize.
