You also learn about yourself, how to improve yourself to be more successful in your professional life as well as your personal life. So let's dive right into story one Long term unemployment for decades long term unemployment mostly hit purpose about college degrees now that's changing according to time period. 1/3 of people jobless more than 6 months have college degrees up from just 1/5 a decade ago. Sean Mar I gave and work at a little board game store down the street. Another applicant Gallagher stress reaction is unbearable. I have never felt rationalized before in my life. She's applied to more than 3,000 jobs economists and shrinking there have been around 2016. The result is that highly educated workers once insulated are not squeezed out with some reordering to keyboard borrowing from family or starting time businesses. Just hang on. Okay, what's the real message here when it comes to rising unemployment? Having a piece of paper no longer means anything. The only thing that matters is can you deliver value to work. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear. Sorry that's not comfortable. So before you graduate from college you need to take crash course and entrepreneur be the big guy at Google. Stop looking down your nose at big work and realize there's nothing wrong with building your own business from day one and get start talking to real people and selling your services. Let's get a little deeper here. I'm a little proud by some of the things they shared with you in in that particular news read there the idea that someone with two master's degrees claims they can't give you a job at a store. Why the store selling games here at your message degrees media put that on your resume. Just say hey I'm here at work here to do some work. Can I help you? Might be a better attitude. One of the problems I have though you have in my time is that deep training degrees especially master's degree especially in some prestigious college to do most jobs I used to hold high When I was four years old I had business websites had about $400 in my bank account and I had a magnet from that I was almost four years old I had to go as for camp work I forgot one time I was applying to do some kind of all this work they made me do a test on whether I could use tests this is no problem I'm still with that I want tests so shame on me I did keep my skills up to date on that so it is not to beat you up and make you feel bad you are even pilot shred when you can't get a job to realize the world's changed while graduating from ballot it wasn't really an issue this is way back in 1985 yeah that makes me boomer sorry go over it in 1985 the question really for most people not what the city was I certainly didn't really feel any pressure and then went another job and there you go this piece of call I'm sorry is it fair? No is it what your problems no Is it real world why yes it is because here's the issue companies can get artificial intelligence intelligence you don't need to have someone who is non showing up and teaching everything because you have chatgpt you want coffee break, vacation break or any other holiday so you have provide more value right out of the date now but Katie she applied to 3,000 jobs as a recent college graduate question Katie and I may be wrong champion how many people have you met face to face how many people how many companies have you done research on Howard all 10 leaders on link in X and make thoughtful comments and ask them after hundreds of engagements would they have 5 minutes free introductory meeting just tell you about their company so this happen yeah it could be wrong we live an era where everyone thinks. That works for me as a consumer but you're trying to get a job it's not easy it really never was if you are a young college graduate or any kind of person looking for job my vice view is is don't spend more than about 5% of your time email recess spend the rest of your time trying to meet people in post professional networking events go to meetups connect with people on LinkedIn make real comments about their post and ask them real questions about their families in the industry you need human relationships even a company like Google that tens of thousands of applicants for every job her own research shows the vast majority of anyone hired some sort of internal connection. Does this mean oh this is unfair. This is not what you are. Do you know what? You don't actually know we do or work to send your time emailing resume to send your time trying to make actual human connections. So these days LinkedIn with X their social media platform you can start to form some kind of relationship with everybody in the industry. You want to enter with top CEOs and in vast majority of industries where the thought leaders have podcasts and post columns on LinkedIn barely have that much money. Just shut up, make thoughtful comments. Hey you're going to have a job. You just make thoughtful comments and you do that routinely make some sleeper on you start becoming well known they will eventually respond to a question. You have media requests to be linked to a necessary industry or as the head of HR and there were job opportunities. So John Bitm according to story J for 18 months if you're graduating from college tomorrow then for the last year what have you been doing? You know this day with K I urge everyone these days to have a two track system for gang income One of gas supplier jobs, regular jobs. The other one is start your own gig, start your own business it cannot hurt you. It's long run you can get from drop it Goldman Sachs or Google start side business where you are marking yourself or your if you make twitchy balls or you make be a game start slinger services it will be extraordinarily helpful to you regardless where you are in your career. And there's just no downside. There's a huge huge downside. Put all your eggs in the asset. I'm going to get a traditional job or I show up at the office and everything is handed to me and I push a clock and go at night at 5 or maybe 9pm and give back to some vacation health care and all that. Yeah, it'll be nice if you can get that font sometimes looking at it but you have to have a plan B because life is unma. Chances are you're not a boomer like me. You got idea of reality as it exists. In 2025 you're unemployed or underemployed and that means do not spend all of your time Click send Click send Resume that to be no about 5% of your time. Let's get a horrific decision. Nearly 26% of unemployed Americans are long term jobless. Highest in three plus years. So yeah tip that many days of being by Uber and Hulu delivery systems in plain yourself on fiverr to sell a gig I didn't mean that's an uber gig economy. And yes, for most people, working the economy is not a great deal. Doesn't mean it can't be a deal for you. Doesn't mean it can't make your job search much more relaxing. Get the income. It doesn't mean it can get you out of a house quite often. So stop looking down your nose at gig work and realize there's no one waiting in on the course to save you from reading any political party who's the same guy. Study hard, you get your A's, you better college now you deserve a job. Sorry, this doesn't work that way. So please realize nobody cares about your career. Money is YouTube and yes, you very well may want a job more broadly. You want income, you want career. You want to use your talent to help people and make money for the lifestyle you want. That may not include a job. May include you starting your own business and really doing things right out of the gate that work well for you without a traditional corporate job. We'll be right back. Imagining the most confident person in the room whether you're on Zoom or on stage as thousands of officials are limited to react to my online communication courses, Go to jwalker.com advertise welcome back to thank you for joining David. I'm right into issue two Fox Huff surprises after Keller's on air month. I am obviously aware of compassion backlash titles but pressure on network continues. What's the real mystery here? Ryan Gilby said you should just kill talking about homeless people. Inject them legally kill them. He apologized and he had a free bit of holiday petition. He's not going to suffer any repercussions at Fox News nor shit he given the fact that he is callous. He was wrong for him to say that is what you want. When someone calls for Gap you don't necessarily have to end every career. Let's go deeper here. I do think contact is important. We are millions coming now and commentators I would say all across the spectrum. There's only one part of the spectrum are losing their jobs not for calling for the killing people. We're seeing commentators losing the jobs because they say here's a guy over here who was killed. I'm a poll by name. We should have violence now let's look at career this guy and what he said old messages he spread and before we can those people are having their careers. Those people are being cancelled and yet old BR and I are not friends that I met him numerous times when I went on to yes sensible hundreds of times and CNN and bloover, you name it. I've done communications analysis on these networks and I always struck me as not particularly ideological. When you see him portrayed on Saturday Night Live they only portray Tim bowl and sort of ignorant moron. I don't he's an ignorant moron. I don't think he's raging to the true but I doubt that he's going on and he certainly has a long, successful and wildly lucrative career. I would use our past for that. But he's also held some jobs into nearly 30 years insane jobs. So he has transferred early in the morning to morning shows, podcast and authoring books that reach the bestseller status. And he's not someone I see as routinely spewing hate kill him. I dare say any of us on another network of a different illegal position, said Killum. And for not the homeless but the political group more in favor by those channel where this Kimberly works that person will be fired a winner in five minutes before the next commercial bay they would then escort out of the building. So yeah, it's unfair. I'm not calling for Brian delicious job nor do I think he will because if one can say they're very loyal to get to the point where you're real causing hundreds of millions of dollars of damage like Bill O'Reilly Orson then they're loyal and they seem about you is one reason why their audience is very loyal to them. It's where we look about business, technology, economic issues. They filter through the lens of communication skills and virtual skills issues. America's soy pain trans exports of the United States are down about 15% but its global surplus is ready for this big number widening to nearly $786 billion. Asia have offset by flight market in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia solar panels and more. China retaliated waves that sting it temporarily halted exports of rare magnetic cars and missiles and boycotted US soybeans data farmers in North Dakota the Gecko Valley projects a $400,000 loss this year farmer just to shock more generation of farmers because of trade war I think that's what they're putting treasure Secretary Scott presented with lean negotiations own millions in order to raise concerns about conflict of interest so how about people watching these days think about conflict of interest what's the real message here in America are being destroyed by the terrorists and China is China saying all right we're going to see the and this goes to show conservative right conservative libertarian for years this tears all these up unintended consequences they knock up things over here even though you're looking up here big government decide it knows more than a free market system all sorts of occurring one of them right now is China is selling more than about because the United States become a paralyzed state in a main former trading partners around the world and China is picking up they are up 15% and are exports around the world they're making money hand over fist Meanwhile American farmers who use China are in rim brim position let's dig a little bit deeper let's listen to the things so up 15% this year year to date up 15% global surplus $785 billion through August that's a lot more than what they were a year ago they're using their rare earth leverage trying to reduce 8% of magnets and 100% of certain kinds of minerals are keeping themselves China buy 60% of global SWAT of soybeans so all of a sudden they say no area it really hurts and this is Wall Street Journal it's not according to the Wall Street Journal other reputable sources some individual farmers are losing as much as $400,000 a year and according to Bill Wilson an official in North Dakota I've never seen such person as monumental destruction in agriculture this federal problem with getting tons and tons of power that traditionally a free market system that we use today was enhance that individual consumers individual farmers individual fact that any one farmer is so much smarter than the president of the United States that's not the issue no one contend that the issue is power used to be fe sp across people in the entire industry consumer the stakeholders creators the owners no one person if followed all the history of Ghani in a lot of part of the 20th century today not every kicker not a lot of people there not Friday outer middle class not one of people with great careers Brayan vacationing around the world just saying hey come to Juba and let us host you didn't see like that because power wouldn't let him and now unfortunately the Castro whether it is leader in North Korea, whether it is Bishop Orin in Hungary, whether it is Lily the great leader in Venezuela or for that matter of Turkey we are seeing more and more people around the world overrated let's have argued power to do whatever they want and we are seeing the consequences. So the main dancer voting for and they're actually supporting their own economic interests because right now it is looking pretty grim for a lot of different players in our economy and this whole thing great for China. So if you narrow concerns helping China you'd be very happy with the terrorist United States imposed because China is up hundreds hundreds of billions of dollars this year alone they're selling more to the rest of the world than what they are buying is helping buy. So if you have helped chain and move Americans by no means continue to support these tariffs because they're doing a great job. Millions of all edge Transformers secret skills this show doesn't run a lot of sponsorships or big media adding it runs on caffeine and yours of work if you look what you're hearing you want to see you can buy me a copy really just so buy me a copy teacher work it's quick easy idea to upstart editing hosting and staying relatively entry for long's puzzle. Issue four day Biden's post White House relatively big July's business is moving mean compared to his period he has secured a $10 billion book deal so let's not pass the 10 he earns between 300 $500,000 per fee and about $416,000 in engines but debts on the road but he has property taxes and Hunter Biden legal bills they heavily who made a $60 million the type $86 million Netflix contract now command four $600,000 per se shared mail advertising their net worth is estimated over $130 million bill Hillary got mass more than $240 million in income from speeches mostly since 2001 with current net worth around $120 million Biden will face low fundraising for presidential charitable wear and fewer corporate suitors due to his age popularity and Trump's shadow over would be donors okay so what's the real message here now all celebrities now former presidents are the same Cassie have cashed in hundreds of millions of dollars as have the Clintons but Joe Biden making a purchase public spear not so much of a good idea it's not working the day's instantly getting $100 million are over. Okay, let's let's take a little deeper here. Yeah I want to be able to start he's getting some speaking I'm not I'm not a Biden hater that I going to an annual national real estate convention in Las Vegas. He told me hey this year this speaker's Joe Biden. I just wasn't sure if I was killing in 2000. Now I'm definitely going that is what people big transitions organizations conferences pay large sums of money draws people into want care trauma and Robert Biden anticipated on the national stage for more than half a century. So I think a lot of people you know what they don't really need more so he's not getting this gigantic 60 million dollar deal for real Obama presidency Biden obviously a little different outcome the other issue is just the age Obama was very young man comparatively when he left the White House still prim vigorous old manner his voice still sounds the same. So that's crazy that he can do huge demand and popular not same with Biden. Now let's get this historical. You had Truman the officer was below Lincoln's widow faced massive debt basically has to write his autobiography. So I don't really go back to President Reagan really should vote new ground. He was the first president who really caked in yes and Lincoln doesn't cack in sort of slimy way by getting into ocean for TV stations. Okay so we're bipartisan here Kennedy obviously not have a post presidency Reagan was really the first ones to cash in and modernize it because he got some six figures speeding over speeding Japan blue people these days president paying $100,000 for speed people by wow that's so little you must be getting invested getting a terrible discount in 1989 went rally and it was the lawyer it was unprecedented. No one ever heard of something like that before. These days where your former sitcom star reality star comedian who says something controversial it's comparatively 90s but comparatively never been easier to monetize things and presidents no matter how much you don't like no matter much you might think they they're famous and have lots of opportunities for mon if you just look at many batch funds but $10 million in a low cost index fund you know your case you can get you a budget well you know in 30 years you're not about $4 billion or more that is generational wealth. So let's not feel too sorry for Joe and his pension is govern intention is more than $400,000. Now let's keep in mind he's been in public office for nearly half a century so you are able to make the case and pay for that. But a lot of people me and you have worked for a long time you're not getting $400,000 a year salary now as you remember there are a lot of perks a lot of your staff, your security I hope security is paid for. You never know the current administration if they die to take security away from it. It is law that from has security details as long as they live that continues. So yeah he's well in the top 1% in terms of birth and in this point. So let's not you know let's not start a crowdsourcing or a kickstarter for former President Obama. It is interesting seeing the differences and we didn't mention about President W did for a while made a lot of money as speaker but also had one huge windfall when he was diving into the with a baseball team and Gap big $20 million before he really started his political career. So if he had had any kind of sound investment there again this is not fact based I'm just shuffling of what manager would do George Bush should have an app for $190. I think he's interested in you know flying around the country getting a speech to the National Chamber of Commerce meetings Florida which is how he wants to spend he would spend his time painting spending time with his green kids. So anyway I wish a healthy life to all our former presidents and that they enjoy their retiring years. You know President Carter who passed by age 100 and has an extraordinary career not really making money in special Horizon Z but devoted to other policy matters and filmmatic activities. Prime Minister and Fortune 500 CEOs same exact communication optimist Whether you're shooting on camera, taking a clip or hating a crisis you need these tools 0 blocking motivational fees weeks. Welcome Back to issue 5 Trump says the New York Times for $15 billion $15 billion President Donald Trump's estate is well with me eying a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times Enlightenment True social post Today I have the great honor of bringing in a $15 billion defasion and labor lawsuit against the New York the worst degenerative paper in the history of our country for the radical left Democrat hard you have the single largest illegal campaign contribution ever in all caps endorsement Kamala Harris Times something or unheard of it goes on you can look it up. I can't really get through the whole thing so let's Say it is. What's the real message of Donald Trump slinger guy for $15 billion it's not because he expects to get a penny from them. It's not because a single shred of evidence is his fake. It's about intimidation. I'm trying to send a message to smaller media organizations, ones that don't have the deep pockets of a year type. If you criticize me at all I will try to put you out of business. Whether it's the Department of Justice or with losses will lead you to death. Let's take a little bit. They want to think it's the true message. Now fortunately for the Times they have they're not one of these gigantic e companies that's constantly trying to acquire movie studios and every TV network in the world. So they don't really have to worry about getting pool from the regulatory agency the Trump administration. They're publicly traded but they're still largely controlled by the family that founded the Ox Salzburger family. They have all the class B shares that give disproportionate voting power. So they're not easily intimidated. But what makes an advantage is typical of Trump to actually state any facts. He doesn't like the fact that the New York Times put an editorial Joseph Bonds from page okay, that's what the law against that. That's not defamation. Other newspapers have done it. Many that in the north can have done it. So nothing particularly illegal or liable if amtor about putting that tree on. What Trump is really saying is he doesn't like any organization there is in fact he wants the organizations to simply project his vision around. He's only happy you are saying what he wants to hear. Real life, hey there's a lot of voter fraud and relations didn't really work. That's what made him happy. That's what all things make him happy. And the problem is if you were journalist in that business saying yourself there's a highlight to effects and what the leader says out print what the leader says zip down into the craft of journalism, let's say a marketing craft. That's propaganda craft but it's not a journalistic craft. So yeah short term significance of this is going to be allowed out of court, even the Trump court. And there's something I believe even as craven as our course system is that even with Supreme Court filled with as many MAGA henchmen that our current Supreme Court has, they're not going to force the New York times to pay $15 billion or any money to Trump. In my views just gave him $16 million. Yeah. CS did it because they were evolved by resversion. They were hoping to get real toy deals passed for mergers so they can line your pocket more. So they said let's swallow our journalistic pride. Let's do what it takes to be take more money. And they're not trying to merge more. So that's why I think they are a lot less susceptible. Here's where the problem is. There are tons of newspapers in America that are hanging by on a thread second tier markets for the match. The first two markets, Los Angeles and Chicago newspaper are not particularly profitable. But when you go down to markets, let's say that from 100 to top 10 those 90 cities, the newspapers in those towns are not doing very well. So the cities they're in a jet, they're going to start looking over their shoulder thinking do we have to run that article of this administration sue us for $15 billion? Sure, we have been bored but we don't have enough money to put an attorney on retainer for the next 10 years. So we gotta start playing safe. And that's the real thing. That is the intent message here. This administration is sending a message to media around the country one way it's safe. No criticism of his administration, no criticism of his people, of its values, of its policies. No pointing out inconsistencies, no pointing out hypocrisies. Otherwise we will in fact come together. That is what I believe is the real purpose of this otherwise considered frivolous biggest shout it makes sense a journalist organization in the history world hasn't made actual errors. Do I believe New York Times is has journals have political news? Absolutely. Do I think most of the political reporters and hard news reporters personally dislike the current administration? Absolutely. But why do they get up in the morning thinking how do I source you and make up fast food fame. So now what we all might know same cannot be said Breitbart and Fox News and news apps and a lot of other organizations that call themselves journalistic organizations to already know the real of every single story they do. It's how clean a library and crab a large interest wish of the New York Times to make their enemies. There were email scandal versus all losses against Trump in 2016 and on that I have to over. Okay, that concludes our big stories of the day. Let's step back in the grab section of the show and that's where we try to look at There is dominating headlines and sometimes delve into specifically more issues related personal development and communication skills to help us now there's been a lot of tension news lately with assassinations and all that. I'm not the first person to make this recommendation by way amplified there in a number of count theaters across the spectrum said hey, temperatures are getting higher and higher in the United States. Tensions are rising. Important for your own mental sanity, for our national sanity, but also for your personal sanity. I'll try to do each day still for walk each day for an hour. Not with my phone off, not ringer off. Literally leaving the phone on. I started that practice about eight years ago. I had to tell you that was probably the best decision I ever made for my own bank account. Unless you are the only emergency room servant in your small town and you're not that important. You came in that day, you came to. So if I helped me by putting my phone away, I could actually pick my own fault. I'd be reflected I will often walk with a pad and a pan. Yes, this still exists. Listening to my podcast I'm holding up a very simple suitcase, 4 inch notepad and a pen. I can go for a walk. I get into my head about of course I can create a new topic for a show, a new idea for a digital clone. I can thank my own boss, reflect on it and made a beautiful handpaper. The pen is paper. Also send a shot back with a hyperlink to some story that said interesting while you click on it and get me so angry. So the other thing I do is do not bring cell phone into my bedroom. So I can cost almost nothing. These days if you want a cell phone you probably order alumni too. So leave your cell phone out of your bedroom quality. Usually buy a box for $7. You can go on Amazon for almost no money. The good old fashioned digital alarm box. It costs about seven bucks. You can do that too. Now here's the trick here. I had to turn up myself in a good two hours before I want to fall asleep. So I'll fall asleep at 9:30. I tries on 7:30pm this allows me to get more relaxed to think about bigger term, bigger agency to read a book that is looking at some bigger issue. I would like to say and take I read more fiction but I'm doing mostly motivation. But I'm not reading about what diamond is and also I think the Kindle paper is great. I only know how to connect. What I like about reading on Kindle is I can lower the light levels of the plane where there's less I give a damn reading light so it does not stimulate your brain and it doesn't Tell your brain hey it's boring because they're so delayed there's something but it's also relaxing too. It's not just bombardment of ad popping out oh here's how I shine. Here's a shame. More and more people being angrier and angrier angrier civil war of the United States Congress this yesterday we're going to have to break hard there that is two murders of course there's likely everyone in the state is one bar and everyone we're all living together and mixed up together so we've not an easy solution My point here is worth all spent a little less time constantly seeking out confirmation bias constantly seeking out online proving God that these people hate the more testable than I bought yesterday because for us there's a little OT now you have your own political opinions I have my opinions but first and foremost I have sensible centers objective reality filter communication skills personal balances make humor success. That's my number one bias. I hope you have a bias in favor of seeking truth even when it's uncomfortable you normally I normally react normally before so you're not linked to that at some level you're shedding your humanity and you're really just becoming almost like an animal that reacts like here's pain Runway we're not animals we all human beings there is higher level of living all of us sharing cephalong's way now I found myself in a zer minute because I'm streaming on it on TikTok it's the only way we check my brand on TikTok but I'm not actively checking I'm actively looking between my post and queer sure but I would highly highly recommend you look at how much screen time you spend an actively scheduled time to be away from sophos and old friends spend while playing pickleball is you being a treadmill and you're scrolling one nasty story after another one more story. Yeah got your heart rate better than just saying scrolling nowhere nearest but it's actually playing game and sweating and that's about big wall you miss out some old geezer boomer sword okay by your own play the bell I don't care what you play I want you to buy something where it's not possible to be staring at yourself most of the time. That's the problem with the game of golf is guys swinging and looking at that and then when you're in the golf part you can be boom scrolling the whole time you want to play golf. But try to find sometime every day where your phone's off. You off for a while to think for yourself. Don't have a day. Your phone's off. You're playing sport, doing some exercise. Your phone is not bombarding you with other people's ideas. Take your phone off. Turn it off when you're asleep. And this may be the most important thing. Turn off your own couple of hours before you walk, fall asleep. Think about your thoughts about how you want make tomorrow a better yourself, your family, maybe your community, your customers. Think about that rather than outrageous. Every day. Every single day. Right here on this Please leave a review. Please send for the subscription, please do so, and please tell your comment more.
