You don't fall in love with your own ideas, especially your first ideas. If you're trying to solve a really big problem, realize that the first idea you come up with may be the simplest, most obvious, and therefore the least useful. Continue to think, Continue to scrutinize your solutions, look for holes, try to poke it apart, and continue developing more and more ideas. It's more likely that your third or fourth or fifth idea is the real winner. Don't be lazy. After the first idea comes out, even if it seems like a good one, please follow the TJ Walker habit.
