So let's define our terms here and what we'll really be dealing with this in this course. Work life balance for most people means they're putting too much emphasis on work. Work is taking up all their Life. They're working 50, 60, 80, sometimes a hundred hours a week. Things are out of balance because there's no time left to live real life. If they're single, there's no time to have fun, socialized, date with friends. If they're married, with children or with a partner, there's no time to spend with their family. And that's the real problem. So a lot of this course is going to deal not with just with the simplistic idea, say no to the boss, go home at 5, no matter what. That's easy to say, but hard to do in real life. But we're going to work on specific tactics of how you can still thrive in your career, how you can still be successful, how you can make the money you want and achieve the levels of success in your career that you want and do it without completely sacrificing your home life, your personal life, your social life. There is an old cliche out there. It is true. Nobody says on their deathbed, wow, I really wish I'd spent more time at the office. But that's not 100% accurate. There are plenty of people who are on their deathbed saying, wow, if only I'd started that business, or I really could have been successful if I'd tried deeper in doing this thing, or I should have written that book. I don't want your life at the end to be filled with remorse and regrets about not doing certain things in your career. I want you to have a great career. I want you to have a great personal life, home life and family life. But a lot of what we'll be talking about is specific to managing this career so that you can thrive and yet it not take over every hour of the day. So get ready for that. It can be done. But also realize so many people do a somewhat good job of managing their career. They do a horrible job of managing their personal life. So we're not going to just focus on the career. It is two sides of the same coin. They both have to be managed properly in order to give you balance.
