Media training for celebrities let's face it, these days, being a celebrity isn't just about being the star in the movie. It's not just about being the star on the football field. It's about the ability to then promote those things on talk shows, on TV news programs, on major news outlets. It's the ability to communicate to the news media. You look at the contracts of most movie stars, it includes days of time where they're doing non stop interview after interview after interview. Yes, Tom Hanks is a great actor, but he's also someone who great on the set of the Today show, promoting his movie and getting the other host to like him, to chat with him and to treat him like a friend. Sure, it is true that there are some stars out there. Look at someone like Warren Beatty or my favorite Robert De Niro. They're not very good at media interviews. They've never liked it and yet they were still successful. But in general, if you're a celebrity, you're going to be so much better off if you can quickly perform well on the red carpet. Ryan Seacrest wants to interview you. If you can go on the talk show circuit, if you can go on Ellen, promote your latest whether it's the latest book, the latest movie, the latest CD that you're putting out, whatever it is, your concert, you've got to be able to talk about it in an effective way. Now, at Media Training Worldwide, we work with a wide range of celebrities. Everyone's different, but everyone really wants the same four things. The first skill, knowing how to look comfortable, confident, relaxed in your style. Not my style, not necessarily with a tie, but in your own style. The second skill, knowing how to shape a media message. If you're asked about your latest movie, you can't describe every single little plot nuance. You've got to be able to sum it up. 3 points, 30 seconds or less. The third skill, how to answer questions in an interview. And the fourth skill and most important skill, how to package your messages with sound bites so that you know in advance the quotes you're going to get. Doesn't matter if you're talking to Variety or People magazine or the New York Times. Almost every quote comes from one of 10 speech patterns. Once you understand these sound bite elements, it's very easy for you to package your messages with sound bites so that you know in advance what quotes are going to be used. So if you would like to improve your media skills and you're a celebrity or a celebrity handler, please give us a call at Media Training Worldwide. We're here in New York. Happy to come to LA or any other city where you might be. Please call us 212-764-4955.
