TJ Walker opens the New York Times homepage and finds 23 of 25 top stories about the same person. He argues media outlets retell one narrative with minor variations instead of reporting diverse news, and criticizes a leader who treats war as a casual suggestion driven by polling.

Chapters

Today I opened the New York Times homepage. 25 top stories. Guess what? 23 of them had the same name in the headline or were about something that same person had just said or done. 23 out of 25 stories. At that point, it's not the news. It's a loop. It's one story told over and over again with slightly different costumes. And the story is simple. What did this man do today that was reckless, offensive, illegal, dangerous, or just plain insane? You've got a leader who treats war like it's a casual suggestion. Maybe we hit this country, maybe we don't. Let's see how it polls. Ultimize.
