TJ Walker says parents should teach kids math and how to think positively. He argues that a positive vision is necessary before starting a business, writing a book, or starting a family, and urges parents to actively teach children to notice good things in the world.

If you have a kid, chances are you want that kid to learn math. Not because you think they're going to become a full time mathematician, but you know, that's the foundation of so many other things you need to do in life. Well, here's the thing. You also need to teach your child how to learn positive thoughts, how to see positive thoughts, how to accept positive thoughts. Because anything important you want to do in life requires a positive attitude. You would never start a business, start a company, write a book, start a family if you didn't have some positive vision for how that happens. So yes, teach your child math, but teach them to actively be looking for positive indicators of what's good with the world. Please follow the TJ Walker habit.
