Short excerpt from a TJ Walker YouTube video ("Secrets to Mastering Facilitation Skills") giving practical facilitation advice: the primary principle is that facilitation is not about the facilitator—avoid using questions to showcase your own knowledge; instead, focus on eliciting insights from the group.

What's the most important thing to remember when you're facilitating a small or large group? Well, here it is. It's not about you. Avoid the temptation to try to show everybody how smart you are by asking long questions that show your detailed, intimate knowledge on the subject. If you want to be a good facilitator, you've got to realize it's not about you. It's how you can bring out interesting insights.
