Woody Allen once famously said that 80% of success is showing up. I would add to that showing up on time. There's so many books, keynote speeches, workshops on how to be successful in life. But something that gets short shrift is simply showing up on time, doing what you say you'll do when you do it. It's a relatively rare commodity. I know when I work with a vendor, any business, and they actually deliver when they say they will, it makes such a huge impression, I want to work with them again. I want to refer them, I want to give them recommendations. The opposite is true too. When people promise to deliver something by a set time, promise to show up and then don't, it leaves a permanent scar. If you're looking for a quick, easy way of being more successful that doesn't require more work or effort or smarts, just show up on time.
