TJ Walker (YouTube video) explains why some people do not appear to be leaders: they often sound monotone or flat and display minimal body movement, which makes them appear scared and unconfident. Now, I've worked in 45 nations, and I can tell you it's true in the nations I've worked in. But I also work with students and receive training videos from students in every country in the world, except for North Korea. And there's an amazing consistency among people who speak, who don't appear to be leaders. Why is that? It's because they look scared and stiff. All of a sudden, their voice becomes monotone and their voice becomes flat. They're speaking at the same speed, the same tone. They're not really pausing. Sometimes they're speaking too quick. It makes them seem nervous. That's one sign their voice betrays them. The other thing is, nothing's moving but their lips. Hi, I'm TJ Walker, and I'm a great leader. And I want to tell you. And I'm freezing. My body isn't moving. My hands are clenched. My face is frozen when I did that, and it makes me look scared. Nobody wants to follow the lead of someone who appears to be scared.
