TJ Walker lays out three things that actually work: eat real food, not processed stuff; walk 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily; sleep 8 to 8.5 hours. Nobody makes money pushing this advice, which is probably why you haven't heard it.

Here's my real concern that people are losing the fundamental message they need to hear, which is if you want to reduce your chances of chronic disease in America and most of the Western world, you need to do three things. Eat real food that is lightly processed or unprocessed. Avoid highly processed food and added sugars, added fats, processed carbohydrates. Exercise every day. Don't walk 4,000 steps a day, walk more like 10 or 12,000. Get eight, eight and a half hours. Slee if you did that, you would be so much healthier than most people. And yet you can't sell that message for $79 a month, can you?
