It's never been easier to do live video live streaming. It's talked about everywhere. More and more organizations and individuals are doing it. I want to give you a few tips on how to make a video live stream as successful as possible. For starters, test there's so many things that can go wrong and if you've invested time and energy bringing people, inviting people, it feels just absolutely terrifying to think, oh, I've let all these people down. Technology anything with video can be complicated and it can change. I know that it was very easy to do live streaming on Facebook Live several months ago, and for the last year I push a button right here in my studio, I could do it easily. Facebook had no problem finding my video camera a month or two ago. They changed their programming and it's now wildly complicated. I can't just do I have to get all sorts of access keys. It's wildly complicated if you're using a desktop now. It's still very easy for me to do Facebook Live if I want to do it just on my cell phone. So if there's something of a breaking news nature or something short, quick, where I'm out on location, I'll do the live stuff right on my cell phone for my Facebook page. Could do it for YouTube as well. My recommendation, when you're planning for live streams, have some thoughts about what you want to say, but don't try to have a full script in front of you. If you're doing something live and all of a sudden you're doing this, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, it looks horrible, you've destroyed eye contact, you've probably become monotone and people are just not going to watch you read. So my recommendation, fine to have a few notes sitting about with bullet points where you glance down for a second every minute or two, but do not read. Have something interesting to say, have a real purpose for why you're inviting people live. Certainly one of those purposes can be to ask for questions, get comments, get feedback. That's the real beauty of live is the interactivity. The second thing is if it's anything other than just personal use and for fun, if it has a business organizational purpose, test, test, test. If something can go wrong with live video, it will. The other thing is, if you're any kind of an organization, you know you're doing this. Spend a little money on things like a microphone. You can get a microphone like this, this is a little fancier one, but you can get a lav plug in mic to go into your computer for 15 bucks on Amazon have some decent lighting so that people can see you. You don't have to have a big professional grid or go to a studio. Some sometimes you can just get a few lamps, put them 10ft in front of you and aim the shade so it's pointing at you and make sure you have no light behind you. Follow these tips and video live streaming can be a very effective way for you to have a more direct relationship with your audience, your customers, your clients and prospects. I'm TJ Walker.
