TJ Walker breaks down the second 2008 presidential debate between Obama and McCain. Okay, it's round two in the presidential debate series. Obama versus McCain. What can we expect this time? Well, there's only one month left in the campaign. It's in October. This is not the time for candidate to just sit back and say, well, let me introduce myself to the American people in a genteel way. Oh no. This is the time where the candidate behind has got to figure out some way of making progress against the candidate ahead. And that means McCain, who's behind in several key battleground states and nationwide, has got to figure out a way to go after Obama. It's not enough to come to a draw. There has to be some body blow. There has to be some knockout. Otherwise McCain is in deeper trouble. What to expect? Well, I think you can see more of the attacks you've seen in the last few days. McCain does not want to talk about the economy. He has got to raise doubts in people's mind about whether or not Obama is fit to be commander in Chief. There's not a lot to go with his record. So instead they have to look at his past, his character and the people he's associated with. So I think you can expect to see more attacks on Anthony Resco, the convicted felon who helped Obama with his house and mortgage and has been a political ally. Also, you may see more of the attacks of the association with William Ayers and Obama, someone who was a known terrorist. Whether these charges will stick or not, time will tell. Now, will Obama play defense the whole time? Rightfully, no. Obama has learned the art of skilled debate. You're not going to see him defend, defend, defend. Instead, I think you can see him attack. He's going to very forcefully say, look at John McCain. Of course he wants to bring up these silly issues. He doesn't want to talk about the economy. He doesn't want to talk about his role in the economy and, and his philosophy of deregulation. Deregulation, deregulation. I think you can expect to see Obama counter punch with, hey, this is the same McCain who brought you Charles Keating and do some of his own attacking. So it should be a fascinating debate. Tune in.
