A short live-stream monologue by TJ Walker offering public-speaking coaching focused on hand movements. Walker rejects the idea that hand motion distracts listeners, advises speakers to allow purposeful hand gestures rather than freeze or restrain them, and models gestures while speaking. He emphasizes comfort, confidence, and natural use of hands; key line: "The key, just don't freeze your hands."

Number one question I get, will it distract people if I move my hands when speaking? No, no, no. See what I did there? I emphasized my points by moving my hand. The other question I get is, how do I stop moving my hands so that I don't distract my audience? Again, faulty premise. Comfortable, confident people around the world, when they are comfortable, move their hands when they speak. My recommendation to you, don't focus on holding your hands, restraining your hands, keeping a serious look on your face. You want more movement, you want more hand motion. It won't distract your audience. It will actually bring them in and make it easier for them to listen to you. See what I just did there? I said bring them in. So my movements were not random like this. It was with a purpose. Did I have to rehearse that? Practice that act? No, it just came to me when I'm speaking. And it will come to you, too, because you already know how to use your hands when you speak. The key, just don't freeze your hands. No, it won't distract. I'm TJ Walker. Thanks for joining me.
