Welcome to Media Training Insider. I'm Mike Baco. Tonight we're going to be taking a look at the CNBC Republican debate on finance. Before we get to the winners, let's take a look at the big loser. And without a doubt, it's got to be Rick Perry. Rick Perry is going to be riding back on his horse to Texas with his tail between his legs after tonight's unbelievably big gaffe. Not improbable gaffe, not unpredicted gaff, but a gaffe that will live in infamy as we move forward. Talking about politics, talking about debates and talking about just the way that Rick Perry's campaign just crumbled right before our very eyes on the stages, he was not able to come up with two other government agencies that he wanted to eliminate. You almost felt sorry for Rick Perry at a certain point. But if you've been watching the trajectory of some of his recent comments, speeches that he's made, coming a little bit unhinged and certainly not having good debate performances, certainly not after that first one where he jumped into the race where everyone was anointing him as the frontrunner. So this is our eulogy for Rick Perry as we may be seeing the very last of him. He may be riding back to Texas with not a very distinguished record as a debater. Will he be able to govern? That remains to be seen. But as a presidential candidate, this is what people are going to be talking about tomorrow. But let's get to the winners. Who were the winners? Well, Herman Cain unbelievably came out on top during this debate. Mitt Romney right up there with him. If we're going to be giving grades. Once again, if you've been following media Training Insider, Romney's been getting solid B pluses, A minuses A. He's a solid student when it comes to these debates. But this one, Herman Cain gets a rating of an A, gets the grade of A. He was able to shrug off some of those sexual everything that was going on sexually in terms of the bad news that was coming his way this past week, the crowd was really on his side. He was able to push all that to the side and really get his message out during this debate. So you have to give high marks to Herman Cain whether you think that he's a viable candidate come the general election time. That's not what's at issue today. What's at issue is who won this debate, who, who is now putting themselves a little bit more distance. I think after tonight's debate we'll be seeing some polls that will show Kane making even more distance between himself and Romney and with what happened today with Rick Perry whose votes who's 10% it's not a big 10% Romney has really dropped in the polls but whose 10% is that going to go to? Is it going to go more towards Romney? Is it going to go more towards Kane? That's going to be an interesting development that I'm looking for in these next few days. Who's going to get that Rick Perry 10% because his support whatever it was at this point certainly will evaporate after this performance. So again recapping the big loser you almost feel bad for him Rick Perry. But in the long run we kind of saw this coming. All events over the last few weeks were certainly pointing towards this winners in tonight's debate Herman Cain and again Mitt Romney chugging along with his solid B's and B pluses.
