Foreign. Welcome to Media Training Insider and the Daily National. I'm Mike Baco, who won tonight's GOP debate in Florida hands down, Mitt Romney. Romney came out and did all of the things better this time around that he tried to do last time in the first debate with Rick Perry. This was the first time that Romney was really able to stand on his messages without coming across as being too rehearsed. That was one of the things that Perry really struggled with. This time when he really had the opportunity and the need to think on his feet, he stumbled over a few lines. He certainly did not have a great moment when he tried to fight back against Romney's claims. And he had too long of a convoluted comeback to what Romney was saying. Romney really shined as a presidential candidate this time around. Didn't seem like he was worrying too much about Perry as he was in the last debate. This time, Romney came out stuck to his guns, had a few good lines that brought out the humor. Last debate, Rick Perry got a bunch of laughs and a bunch of applause from the crowd. Not so much this time. So on that basis, Romney scores big points. Perry did not acquit himself as well this time around. Certainly had some trouble communicating his messages. Wasn't the best moment for Rick Perry. Again with this debate, 10 different candidates out there. One of the things that really shined through with all the candidates was that they were fighting for airtime. I think Fox did a great job in terms of how they structured the debate, but that also led to dodging of questions, bridging back to message points. Michele Bachmann was guilty of this. Jon Huntsman really fighting for airtime, trying to get their message out. So instead of answering the questions that were posed to them, they quickly bridged back to to their points and it seemed a little bit awkward. So Bachmann and Huntsman really trying to make a name for themselves again in this debate. Michele Bachmann stock is going in the wrong direction. So overall, Rick Perry give him a B minus, whereas Mitt Romney gets a solid A for this performance. Check back at Media Training Insider and the Daily national for more analysis.
