Another great new book out from Michael Lewis, the guy who wrote Moneyball. So many great books. I've not yet read the full book, but there's one quote I have to share with you. It's also excerpted in the New York Times. His latest book is called the Undoing Project and it's an in depth analysis and biography of two of the most famous and influential psychologists in the world. Here's the quote that I think is so relevant. No one ever made a decision because of a number. They need a story. And this comes from one of the two most influential psychological theorists in the entire world over the last half of a century. It is of course, so true. It's something I stress every day to my clients when I see boring data dump presentations. PowerPoints with number after number after number. And my question is always the same. If this particular number that you've put on a slide is so important to put on a slide, tell the story behind it. If it's not important enough to tell a story, or if there is no story, it shouldn't be on the slide in the first place. So I'll try to give you a fuller review of the book once I finished it. If you've read the book, feel free to share your thoughts. Michael Lewis brilliant writer, no matter what field he's looking at, so can't imagine that it's not great.
