If you're a football fan and you were watching Denver and Oakland yesterday, you had to be pleased that the Broncos came out on top.
If you are a Broncos fan.
But what about the performance of Tim Tebow there? Embattled but also loved, reviled, hated, loathed, loved quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow didn't have a great day on the field.
His team did win.
So in the long run, that's all that matters. But let's take a look at the public perception right now of Tim Tebow. He's a quarterback under fire not only for his play on the field, but also off the field and all the.
Things that he stands for.
He's certainly been outspoken with some of his religious beliefs, political beliefs, going so far as to make a Super bowl commercial with his mom, an anti abortion message, moving forward with his career. Objectively, you have to look at his career and say he's not really long.
To be an NFL quarterback.
Yes, he did win this past week. Yes, he does put up numbers.
In certain circumstances his teammates seem to like him.
But in terms of a nuts and bolts quarterback analysis, it doesn't really look.
Like the Broncos are going to stick with him. Not certainly with John Elway and John Fox pulling the strings. They really want to get a quarterback in there that they really feel comfortable with.
They but let's take a look at Thiebaud's career post, Denver. What could he possibly do to enhance his image? Certainly winning on the field will help, but I think Thibaut is really going to fall into a niche demographic of.
Products of causes that he could really endorse.
He's gone on record with some of.
His religious beliefs, he's gone on record with some of his political beliefs.
But the lifespan of a player endorsing products and really being the public face of products is short lived if you don't have a great career. So right now Thibaut is in this interesting limbo where he's not very productive on the field. He's getting more attention for what's happening off the field with some of the jokes that are being made at his expense. So I think for his post playing career it's really going to be interesting to see how long he could actually continue it or if he'll just fall.
Into the motivational speaker realm of things.
And not really have much in the.
Way of endorsements, but certainly sticking with his core base, working his post playing career that way.
Why are we thinking about his post playing career when he just won this past week in Oakland against division rival and his team is doing relatively well. Well, it's because his play on the.
Field is not really measuring up and.
If he has a career two or.
Three more years in the NFL, I think that might surprise some people. So he's going to have to start planning for his post playing career and dealing with some of these issues that are being brought up right now in the media.
