You smell something fishy?
Well, I certainly do.
It's the confidence in the American people, in their government and in their media. What else is there to think about when a member of the fcc, Meredith Baker, leaves her post at the FCC and goes to the company that she.
Was just voting on a merger about, Comcast and NBC?
So now the American people are left to think, well, what was going on here?
Was there some sort of promise made by Comcast and NBC to this individual to vote for this merger, which was not a very popular merger in the eyes of the American people? Well, I don't really know what went.
On behind closed doors, but it just does not pass the smell test of.
What a government official should be doing.
Now, let's take into consideration this is.
Not the first time that a government official has gone into the private sector, and Baker won't be able to lobby on behalf of NBC.
But it's just another indication of what.
The American people don't like about some of these backroom dealings.
And again, we don't know what was going on, but. But it just doesn't pass the smell test. Now, it would be interesting to see.
What Baker's role will be in NBC. She certainly has a very good pedigree with her father being the former Secretary of State. He certainly knows a lot about backroom dealings.
So from the outside, this seems like.
Some backroom dealing was going on.
But from the larger picture, what do the American people think, and should they.
Be justifiably angry about this?
Well, in the old days, where NBC.
Was this huge conglomerate, where one of the big three networks, where you could only get your news from them, this.
May have been a bigger story. But now with so many other news.
Organizations out there, Internet, Internet, tv, podcasts.
Twitter, and Facebook, people getting their information from so many different areas, having one stranglehold like NBC used to have on.
All the news, it's not that big of a deal.
Which is why this story might actually have some more legs, because there are so many other places where people are.
Getting their news and where different information on this story is taking place.
For Meredith Baxter, it will be interesting.
To see what happens over the next two years.
But for right now, this story does.
Not paint a good picture for the FCC or for NBC. I'm Mike Baco, vice president and senior trainer at Media Training Worldwide.
