TJ WALKER - THE HABIT INFLUENCER - Personal Development | LIVE STREAM

TJ Walker says the best way to get better at talking on camera is to shoot a video every day, or at least five days a week. Daily practice makes it easier and faster, builds confidence, and matters more than having perfect equipment or a professional cameraman.

Okay. I want to share with you my number one tip on how to become drastically better, faster, more efficient, more confident when it comes to creating online talking head videos. It also helps you with all aspects of public speaking. Here's the number one. Create a new video every day. Doesn't have to be 20 minutes long. It doesn't have to be the world's most brilliant insight. Just commit to expressing one idea, one thought that would be valuable to someone else each day. Now, you don't necessarily have to do it seven days a week, but five days a week is a good standard to hold yourself to. That's what I try to do. What happens when you do it every day? It becomes easier. It becomes a habit. Anything you do once a day is generally a lot easier than something you do once a month or once a quarter. You talk to all the great writers of the world. Typically, they have the discipline. They get in front of their typewriter or their computer or a pad, if they still use pad and pen at a set time every day. And they give themselves a quota, whether it's 3,000 words or a chapter or even one sentence. But they're producing every single day. If you want to be a good communicator in online video, my goal, do it every day. Single day. Each time it comes a little easier. Each time it requires less motivation than, oh, is it just right? Or gosh, do I have my setup right? Are the lights. Technically, it gets easier. Speaking in front of a camera, it all gets easier. So that's really my number one secret tip. Now, very few people are willing to do this. People are lazy. People tell themselves it's too hard. People tell them, oh, I need a cameraman. You don't need any of that. Just do it every single day. And you will get better and better and better, and it becomes easier and it gets faster. If you have any questions about doing daily video, whether it's commentary, how to advice, information, insights, post your questions right here. Whether you're watching this on YouTube, Facebook or elsewhere, I'll try to answer your questions. If you have other questions about public speaking, speaking to the media, post your questions. I'll answer those.
