TJ WALKER - THE HABIT INFLUENCER - Personal Development | LIVE STREAM

TJ Walker critiques gimmicks and "magic" quick-fix solutions for public speaking and personal development, arguing they distract from the real work. He recommends practicing speeches on video, reviewing performance, and deliberately revising content as the proven path to improvement.
Chapters
I have right here in my hand magic green coffee beans that are going to completely eliminate your public speaking fears. In fact, if you buy and eat these magic green coffee beans, you'll be the best speaker ever. Would you like to buy these beans now? Okay, there's nothing there. There are no magic green coffee beans to make you a great speaker or do you anything else. But in every single field of human development, there's always somebody trying to sell you some gimmick to take your eye off of what you really need to do. If you need to lose weight, chances are you need to exercise more, eat more vegetables, eat fewer calories, not worry about magic green beans. If you want to be a better public speaker, there's all kinds of people out there selling you snake oil to take your eyes off of what you really need to do. There are people who will tell you if you just tap your face long enough, you'll get over your fear of public speaking. There are people who want to tell you to visualize your audience naked. There's somebody out there saying, if you stand with a wonder Woman, pose for a few seconds and look in a mirror, that will solve your problems. And I'm here to tell you those are all completely useless. It's as useless as the magic green coffee beans to make you a better speaker or to lose 30 pounds in two days. If you want to be thinner and healthier, you need to eat healthier. More vegetables, more exercise, fewer calories. If you want to be a better speaker, you've got to do something that's a little bit similar to that and that it's work and it's not much fun. You don't want to do it, but it's the only thing that's going to get results. If you want to be a better speaker, you need to practice your speech on video, look at it, figure out, what do you like, what do you not like? If you think it's boring, it probably is. Get rid of it. It really comes down to that fundamental task. And we as human beings, we often don't like the fundamental. We want to be told there's some magic pill, gimmick, something to take our eyes off of what we really need to do. Maybe I should start selling these magic beans. I could make a fortune, couldn't I?
