TJ Walker delivers a short coaching tip to help people overcome fear of public speaking by practicing speaking through voicemail. He recommends leaving short, focused voicemail messages, listening back, and re-recording once if needed; doing this a few times a week builds familiarity with one’s voice and speaking confidence. The clip closes with a brief call-to-action mentioning TJ Walker’s online courses, monthly New York workshops, and private training options.

Here's your quick tip of the day to help you overcome fear of public speaking. Many of you may have. That is an increasing trend I notice these days. Nobody likes to leave voicemail messages. Now if you really think it's an affront, an assault, and you should only text, fine. But if you're going to take the time to call someone, leave a voicemail message. This is a type of speaking. Now, it's not public in the sense of thousand people watching you, but it still makes people nervous. What I recommend is leave a short, simple message, focus on one thing and then most voicemail systems give you an option of listening to it. Listen to it once and then if you're not happy with it, redo it one more time. Do this a couple times a week and it's a type of speaking. You get used to hearing your own voice. You get used to making improvements over time. It will build your confidence. So leave voicemails and listen to them occasionally. I'm TJ Walker. I help people not only overcome their fear of public speaking, but to become world class speakers. If you want to improve your own speaking, then check out our online course options. We have live public workshops every month in New York and private trainings conducted anywhere and everywhere in the world.
