TJ WALKER - THE HABIT INFLUENCER - Personal Development | LIVE STREAM

Short live-stream monologue (TJ Walker) about Dolce & Gabbana leaders criticizing gay parents by calling their children 'synthetic children', the ensuing celebrity backlash (notably Elton John), and likely negative consequences for the brand’s reputation and sales among trend-setting consumers.
Chapters
Dolce and Gabbana say that gay people, gay couples who have children, are buying synthetic children. You've heard of the fashion design house Dolce and Gabbana? Well, it is headed up by two men who are in fact an out gay couple in real life. And they have some strong views on things. And one of those views is that gay people who have children are essentially buying, quote in their words, synthetic children. And they meant this as a negative and something that should be avoided. Well, this did not go over well among other prominent gay couples. Elton John in particular took to Twitter and other outlets, condemned Dolce and Gabbana and swore that he would never, ever, ever wear any clothes designed by Dolce Gabbana. Again, here's the problem for Dolce Gabbana. They are in an industry that isn't based on empirical evidence of superior product design features. It's based in large part on what's considered cool, what's considered hip, what gets pr, what the celebrities like. So with comments like this, they instantly make themselves seem not cool, certainly not cool to Elton John anymore. And they create a tremendous amount of ill will. Now they sense put out a clarification, say, well, that's just our personal view. That doesn't help. Elton John stated again, he does not like the fact that someone is calling his children synthetic children. So I don't see an easy way out of this for the fashion design house unless they have the founding members retire and they hire younger designers who repudiate these views. Because let's not forget Dolce Gabbana, they're not making a lot of money because they're selling to conservative Republican housewives in the Midwest. They are popular with the in crowd. And they are popular because a lot of celebrities who, if they aren't gay or at least seen as very, very gay friendly, like their clothes and make them seem cool and glamorous and chic. And a lot of that has now been thrown out of the window. What's going to I do. I'm not predicting they go out of business overnight, but I am predicting we see some major slumps in sales for Dolce Gabbana because if it becomes an act of political incorrectness to wear their clothing at major fashion awards and trendy events around the world. Plus, the conservative Republicans in the Midwest aren't going to buy their stuff anyway. Who's left to buy it?
