Do you self identify as a great public speaker? Now you might be thinking, well, you know, tj, I'm not arrogant, of course not. I'm just, you know, I'm so. So I'm average. I'm below average. Let me tell you how you perceive yourself as a speaker. It has a tremendous impact on how your audience will perceive you. In my experience, people who are good speakers know that they're good. They act like they're good. They go into every speaking opportunity, confidence. On the other hand, I've also seen people who actually were good speakers, but they start second guessing themselves. They doubt themselves 3, 4 of the way into their speech. Everything's great. They make one little mistake and it's, I'm sorry, embarrassed. Oh, I apologize. Don't do that. Now I can have a self image of TJ is the greatest golfer ever. It's not, not going to help. I'm horrible. Speaking really is different if you simply act like you're good, tell yourself you're good. Now, you still got to practice and have a good speech. But this extra final element of acting like you're good, knowing you're good is going to help you. And it's also going to make the process a lot easier for preparing the right way. Practicing, rehearsing. The world's greatest golfer, the world's greatest ice skater, they still rehearse their practice. They don't say, oh, I'm great. I don't rehearse. Meryl Streep doesn't say, I'm just gonna do the Broadway show or the movie scene as is, I'm not gonna rehearse. No. People who are really good at it, it motivates them to even rehearse more. And that's where your image of being a great public speaker will help. It'll motivate you to rehearse more, practice more, and actually be great. I'm TJ Walker. I help people speak more effectively.
