Yesterday on Meet the Press, Republican Senator John McCain said it is clear that the Russians interfered with the 2016 elections specifically to help Donald Trump. Now, this is significant because it's not just Democrats, it's not just the Hillary campaign. It's not liberal pundits saying this. John McCain is a conservative, he is a Republican, he's a former Republican nominee. So one can hardly say that he's doing the bidding of some sort of secret Democratic agenda or liberal agenda. Now, these days, the whole Secret Service apparatus, the whole national intelligence gathering apparatus can be criticized, as Donald Trump has done, saying, well, they're the ones who told us about weapons of mass destruction. But you can't necessarily say that John McCain has been tampered with. This presents a communication problem for members of the Republican Party, the Republican Party headquarters, their spokesperson, who so far have been putting out the party line, that there is no evidence that Russia interfered or even tried to interfere with the 2016 election. This sends a signal to many in the Media that John McCain is not just going to go along with Trump anything. He says that he will be a Republican, but not necessarily a Trump Republican. We'll see now how the Trump campaign, and I say campaign, the Trump administration and administration elect reacts to this. So far, they've just been in denial. 37% of Americans currently approve of Donald Trump. They might not be bothered by this at all, but there's a good two thirds of America now. They're trying to figure out what's going on. And it's one thing if it's Democrats versus Republicans, but if it's just Donald Trump against Republicans and Democrats and everyone in the intelligence business, it starts to become a clear picture for many.
