So what's the best way to build confidence in your public speaking? Priscal writes in she's one of the students I have in my online training courses. She says, TJ I've joined the course so far, but I don't have the confidence to post my videos in the discussion forum. Well, Prisca, I do empathize, but I got to tell you, you're not supposed to have confidence before you post videos of yourself speaking on the discussion forum. You're supposed to post videos on the discussion forum so you can get feedback, critique, do it again, and improve so that you then develop confidence. I hope this doesn't sound condescending, but no first grader who is writing letters for the first time and gives the paper to the teacher to grade their Alphabet is necessarily confident that everything is perfect. It's just that's the problem. That's the only way you learn how to write. Well, when it comes to speaking, the only way you're going to learn how to speak effectively and efficiently, in my view, is you kind of record yourself on video and look at it and let other people look at it. Now, one thing I do think will help is if you've already taken the time to record yourself, speak and watch it. Make a list of everything you are doing. Well then make a list of everything you don't like. Here's the key. Do another recording. Try to do everything that you already like again. But then focus on just one thing that you don't like and try to reduce that problem. Keep doing that, make as much progress as you can and then post it on the discussion forum.
