A short YouTube talk by TJ Walker advising presenters on how to handle unexpected interruptions like burps or hiccups. Walker draws on his experience as a talk-radio host, recommends remaining calm and briefly acknowledging the interruption if needed, warns against over-apologizing or showing mortification, and suggests practical prevention (e.g., avoid carbonated drinks). The clip ends with a brief promotional call-to-action.

Yikes. What do you do if you're giving a presentation and you burp in the middle of it or you have hiccups? What do you do? Now this has happened me. If you speak long enough, one of these things can happen. Back when I used to be a talk radio host, I would have a shift as long as four hours and sometimes no guest and very few calls. So all sorts of things can happen when you're speaking that long. My general advice is if you burp, try not to get all red faced and apologize profusely forever. If you want to do a quick oh, sorry about that, or excuse me, if it's brief, it's quick and you don't look mortified, keep going on. That's the main thing. What you don't want is for the most memorable moment of the entire presentation to be your burp or your hiccup. So it's not a problem doing one of those things. Generally the problem is how you react to it. If you look depressed, bumped out, mortified, embarrassed, that emotional moment is what people will remember. And they'll remember it. Coupled with the fact that you burped. If you did it once and just, excuse me, kept on going, chances are no one will remember it. Especially if you have an interesting speech, which I know you will. So don't let it bother you. Don't let it preoccupy your thoughts. Now, there are some things you can do to minimize the chances of this. Don't drink a lot of carbonated beverages. That was my problem. I'd had, I think, a big 32 ounce gulp of Coke before I started a talk radio hosting shift and that was not a good idea. So please learn from my mistakes. I'm TJ Walker. I help people speak their best because how you present your ideas is the number one factor to your success.
