A short live-stream by TJ Walker advising how to become a TED (main TED platform) speaker: focus on developing and sharing valuable ideas broadly, and speak as often as possible to varied audiences (large/small, paid/free, online). He cites long-practicing speakers like Al Gore and Anthony Robbins as examples, and closes by mentioning his own training options (online courses, monthly public workshops in New York City, private trainings).

So what's the easiest way to be a TED speaker, not just a TEDx speaker, but on the main TED platform? Well, it's really simple. Don't worry about being a TED speaker. Worry about having great ideas that you're constantly sharing with the whole world and you're speaking about all the time. Some of the most popular TED speakers of all time are people like Al Gore and Anthony Robbins. What do those two have in common? They've given three thousands and thousands and thousands of speeches for decades before they ever heard about ted. Al Gore was giving speeches about the environment when no one had ever heard or thought about the environment. He gave it for free year after year after year before he made millions speaking about it for movies that went around the world. So rather than just read the 10th or the 12th or the 20th book on how to give a TED Talk, and certainly some of those are great, focus on what ideas you have that are really going to help the world and then just speak. Speak every opportunity you can. Large audiences, small audiences, paid audiences, free audiences, audiences online. And that's really the fastest way to get to the TED stage. I'm TJ Walker. If you'd like to improve your own speaking skills, I can help you in many ways. We have online courses, we have public workshops every month in New York City and private trainings available around the world.
