Hi, I'm TJ Walker with Media Training Worldwide, reporting in Nashville, Tennessee at the Scleroderma Foundation. I'm here with Tom Isit. Tom, you've been going through the media training today. You're ready for a reporter. If a reporter comes to you and says, hey, this famous celebrity has now been diagnosed with a disease, what's your message?

I'm glad you asked that. One of the main things is, what is scleroderma? And basically, scleroderma stands for hardening of the skin. You know, basically, it's a very. It debilitates the skin, the organs, and ultimately causes death. Basically, you can look at it as turning your skin into cement. And there's no known cure, no known cause, and we need to raise awareness. And some of the symptoms of what you'll see with scleroderma are, you know, your joints, there's pain in your joints, calcium deposits in your fingertips, your hands turning color and blue and white and red. And if you're seeing some of these symptoms, I think it's important that you talk to your doctor, obviously. But if you want to get some information on this debilitating disease that's affecting more and more people in this country every day, you need to go to www.scleroderma.org. great.

Well done. Clear, simple, easy to understand messages. Now let's take a step back. What else have you learned from the media training process today? Anything surprising, counterintuitive other than the fact.

That the camera has ten pounds? I would say that my mannerisms and walking around and what you do and eye contact and just so many little things are important and, you know, standing still. And so most of the things that I can't do, I'm learning a lot in overcoming those.
