This is a short transcript excerpt of TJ Walker giving a simple presentation tip for PowerPoint slides: each slide must both (1) make the idea more understandable than speaking alone and (2) make the idea more memorable than speaking alone. If a slide fails either test, he advises deleting it.

Chapters

Here's a simple test you should give to every one of your slides in your PowerPoint deck. Number one, does it truly make the idea I'm talking about more understandable than me simply talking about it? And number two, does it make the idea I'm discussing more memorable than me just talking about it? If you can't say yes to both of those test questions, then your PowerPoint slide fails. Get rid of it. Hit delete.
