In the eyes of many mainstream observers and virtually every Democrat and liberal in the country. Matt Lauer disgraced himself earlier this year during the political campaign when he was the host of a political forum featuring both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. And he grilled Hillary mercilessly on her email and essentially let Donald Trump skate right on by without any tough questions. Well, Matt Lauer has redeemed himself now in the eyes mainstream observers by commenting very publicly that Donald Trump should stop watching Saturday Night Live. Many people are struck by the fact that Donald Trump seems to have nothing better to do on Saturday night than stay up late and watch a comedy show and then critique them. Alec Baldwin's portrayal of Donald Trump has really gotten it under his skin, and Matt Lauer is calling him out on it. A couple of things here, it just goes to show, no matter how much in the you're the dog one day and you're the butt of people's jokes, if you have a regular platform, you can redeem yourself, change people's perceptions just by letting a little time go by and shifting your message. Someone who perceives you to be an ally one day, maybe an enemy the next, and vice versa.
