Media Tip of the day Avoid late night tweeting, especially after a drink or two. Now caveat. If your whole brand, if your whole identity is about being confrontational, controversial, saying it like it is, picking fights, being a real combatant in political issues of the day, or topical issues of the day, then it's good to tweet late at night and be extra provocative. But for most people in government, in the private sector, in industry, tweeting late at night, picking a fight, settling a grievance, letting off some steam. It might feel good at the moment, but when you're looking at that cold text the next day and all the reactions to people calling you obnoxious, a monster, a fool, an idiot, then you'll have regrets. So that's my tip. Don't tweet in anger. Don't tweet late at night. Don't tweet after even one glass of wine. Think. Reflect. Focus. Unless your brand is being Mr. Or Ms. Confrontational. I'm T.J. walker. I teach people how to speak more effectively to the news media and to social media.
