TJ Walker describes how an early public-speaking success (winning an A on a speech and a Fonzie lookalike contest) launched a lifelong career focused on public speaking and media training. He recounts doing his junior-high school newscast, then describes a career that has taken him to nearly 50 countries and included training presidents, prime ministers, Nobel laureates, Miss Universes, and professional athletes. He also notes experience working for the federal government and members of Congress.

I got through the speech, I got the A. And I learned at an early age if you just stand up and speak, good things happen to you. People give you good things. And the very next year, I won a Fonzie lookalike contest in junior high school. This was 50 years ago, and my reward was doing the junior high school newscast on closed circuit tv. And believe it or not, ever since then, everything I've done is related to either public speaking or speaking to the media. And it's taken me to nearly 50 countries around the world. Or I've trained presidents of countries, prime ministers, Nobel Peace Prize winners, Ms. Universes, and Professional athletes.
That's fantastic. So, so when you. I remember the. We're probably close in age. I remember the closed circuit TV stations in the, you know, I remember the studio in our high school. So it's kind of neat. So did you, did you work for any corporations or did you just start doing your own thing right away?
I've worked for federal government, I've worked for members of Congress.
